'Celebrating Sanctuary' is an art exhibition that takes place once a year at The Pierian Centre, as part of National Refugee Week. The art on display is either by or about refugees and asylum seekers.   This is our 6th year and part of "Working Together for Positive Change" - Bristol's response to EY2010 - the European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion.

The theme of sanctuary runs through the exhibition and it is especially relevant this year with Bristol becoming a  'City of Sanctuary' .  Bristol is a multi cultural and diverse place and that should be celebrated.  Bristol is currently running a programme called "Working Together for Positive Change", and 2010 is the European Year of Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion. The Pierian Centre is a CIC and is working in partnership with other companies in Bristol to help Create Prosperity and Social Inclusion across the city.
